US Border Crisis At Record The US Border crisis is quite a hot topic!  Last month, the Border Patrol processed more migrants who entered the US illegally than in any other month in its history, according to internal federal data obtained by CBS News.  That record-breaking number of crossings is 300,000 and counting.  This surpasses the previous record of 270,000 in September 2023. This surge in border crossings continuously put a strain on resources and created a major political liability for Joe Biden as he seeks re-election in 2024.  The situation is further complicated by the fact that the US government is considering new limits on asylum seekers and expansion of detention and deportation efforts. The influx of migrants has led to concerns about the impact on the US and the potential strain on resources, infrastructure, communities, and safety of the citizens.  We don’t know who is coming in at this point.  It remains to be seen how the Biden administration will address this crisis and what long-term effects it may have on the United States. A few things we know, this is not good for many reasons such as safety and draining our resources as we see so much conflict and challenges in the world.  We need to secure and close the border.  The safety of our citizens are at risk because we don’t know who is entering our country and what they could bring and caused.

A Powerful Earthquake Struck Japan On January 1, 2024, at 2:10PM local time, a severe earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 hit the Noto Peninsula in the Ishikawa Prefecture, located on Honshu, Japan’s central island.  The tremor generated waves exceeding one meter in height, leading to the issuance of tsunami alerts and evacuation directives. The catastrophe has sadly resulted in at fatalities and numerous injuries, with rescue operatives persistently combing through the rubble for survivors.  The earthquake inflicted extensive damages on the infrastructure, including buildings and roads, and left thousands of households without electricity. In the 90 minutes following the main shock, the Japan Meteorological Agency recorded 20 aftershocks, some of which had magnitudes above 4.  While the tsunami warning has been reduced to an advisory level, coastal inhabitants are still urged to exercise caution. Efforts by Japanese officials to provide relief and assistance to the impacted individuals have been relentless, with rescue teams being deployed with orders to prioritize saving lives. To summarize, the devastating earthquake in Japan, with a magnitude of 7.6, has led to considerable destruction and loss of lives.  As the situation unfold, rescue missions are underway, and residents in the affected zones are encouraged to heed local authority instructions.
